Last year, I had the opportunity to participate in the English Volunteer Program, which was held in our city for the first time. This program aimed to help improve the English proficiency of local residents and promote cultural exchanges between China and other countries. As a volunteer, I was assigned to a group that provided English classes to elementary school students.

The classes were held every Saturday morning at a local school. We volunteers were expected to teach the students basic English vocabulary, grammar, and speaking skills. The students were all very eager to learn English and were very attentive during the classes. We used a variety of teaching methods to engage them, including games, role-playing, and group discussions.

One of the most memorable experiences was when I taught the students how to sing an English song. They were all so excited to learn the lyrics and were able to sing it with me after just a few tries. Another highlight was when we took the students on a field trip to an English-speaking country. They were able to see and hear English being spoken in its native environment, which was a great learning experience for them.

As a volunteer, I also made some great friends from other countries who were also participating in the program.
